🌡️ Heating and Cooling Functionality
Thermoelectric coolers, also known as TECs or Peltier Modules, are unique in their ability to heat and cool. They create a temperature differential between their two sides - one side heats up while the other cools down. This means they can be used for both heating and cooling applications. Additionally, this temperature difference can be harnessed to generate electricity, adding another layer of functionality.
🔋 Efficient Operation
The TEC1-12715 Peltier module operates efficiently when the heat from the hot side is effectively removed. Upon powering, the hot side heats up rapidly while the cold side cools down just as quickly. If the heat from the hot side isn't dissipated (for example, using a heatsink or another cooling device), the Peltier module will reach thermal equilibrium and cease to function effectively. We recommend using an old computer CPU heatsink or another metal block to dissipate heat from the hot side.
