Compatibility and Features
The SIM800L V2.0 GSM/GPRS Module is a quad-band GSM/GPRS module that is compatible with Arduino. It offers both GSM features (voice call or SMS) and GPRS features. The module operates on a 5V voltage level, allowing for direct connection with Arduino or any other system operating at a 5V voltage level.Unlike many GPRS/GSM modules on the market that require an additional 5V regulator and level converter circuit, the SIM800L V2 GSM/GPRS module comes with a built-in regulator circuit and TTL level converter on the board.
Pin Description
The module comes with the following pin configuration:
- 5v: Power interface to power the module. Connect to DC 5V.
- GND: Connect to GND.
- VDD: TTL UART interface. This TTL UART serial interface can be directly connected to the MCU like 51MCU or ARM or MSP430. The VDD pin is used to match the voltage of the TTL.
- SIM_TXD: SIM module Transmitter.
- SIM_RXD: SIM module Receiver.
- GND: If this pin is unused, keep it open.
- RST: Reset the module. If this pin is unused, keep it open.
